While your child can paint and mix on a solid sheet of paper a cut out of a person makes for a greater understanding that they are painting the colors and emotions of well a person. They included these paper cutouts of a person. This one is being laminated and added to our wallfor sure. Mother Goose Time also included a great photo of the three primary colors blending into each other in watercolors. They recommend leaving the book on display to inspire the kids. Mother Goose Time set up this great idea to get kids really thinking and creating on their own. Invitation to Create: My Many Colored Days If you can’t get your own copy of My Many Colored Days by Dr. Even the kids noticed the fact that some days I am “brown and low, low, down” then the next I am like “a busy, busy, bee.” This book really helps bring our emotions and personal energy to light. Seuss book had us laughing because it pretty much explains my personality in a nutshell. I may have been guilty of skipping ahead and doing day ten as soon as the suggested book arrived in the mail. We also read the book May Feels Sad from the My Feelings series from Scholastic.And I am here to tell you they live up to our expectations. Word pointers are included so the children can look through their books and find words. These *awesome* I Can Read books from Experience Curriculum focus on a few sight words and coordinate with the monthly theme. Each child decorated their mirror as desired with markers, glue and glitter. We made little mirrors with simple supplies – craft sticks for handles, colored paper, and mirrored card stock.
An easy way to explore colors! Make & Play Mirrors Our blue paintings – we used two shades of blue paint. Painting BlueĪfter looking around the room for something that’s blue and pointing to it with the blue crayon, we painted with two shades of blue. Many of the games can be played independently (I put them out as a center) or with a small group. I love all the shape and color activities dispersed throughout the monthly materials. SeussĪfter creating the collages we personalized them with each child’s photo. We used craft foam cut into shapes, large buttons and feathers. To make the many colored days collages, simply provide a piece of black construction paper or cardstock, glue, and brightly colored collage materials. Seuss (shhh, don’t tell!) but I love this book. It’s a short board book but it captures the children’s attention, describes feelings wonderfully and provides an opportunity to further discuss feelings. My Many Colored Days is a must have book for young children.
